Tell us all about Gia!
She is such a joy to be around. I know I’m partial but she really is a happy, pretty easy going baby. She’s mostly all smiles and just loves her two bubba’s. She wants to be involved with whatever they are doing. She loves being outside, cuddles with mom, “flying” with dad, and Micky mouse clubhouse.
How did you choose the name Gia? Is there a special meaning behind it?
Her dad picked it!! And that just made me love it even more. He’s part Italian, and I’ve always been into shorter names, so as soon as he suggested it, I knew it was the one.
What are some things you love most about being a mother?
Honestly EVERYTHING! Hehe. I never knew I could ever feel this way about something. But it indescribably just really is the best feeling.
What surprised you? What challenges were you not expecting?
The hardest thing for me has been trying to take in all moments with her and juggle work at the same time. I’ve realized some days you just can’t have a schedule or plan. You just have to take things day by day. I’ve had to learn to realize that that’s ok.
How do you make time for yourself as a mom?
It’s definitely hard, but I’ve been trying to schedule self care days/ appointments about once a month. Or just getting out on a walk alone.
Did your style change during/after pregnancy? Any pieces you've been gravitating to?
Lately it’s been a lot of drawstrings and wide leg pants. Haha. Also just love wearing jeans and a tee.
What do you love to do in the Outer Banks with your family?
We are lucky to live between the ocean and the sound, so we spend a lot of the time outside and on the water. The boys love surfing or going to the park. We all can’t wait for family beach days with Gia.
What is your idea of a perfect Mother's Day?
I would be happy with a sunny day at the beach. :)
